Privacy Policy

WORKBENCH Pet Care and First Aid ("WORKBENCH", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or register for a Walks 'N' Wags Pet First Aid & CPR class in Richmond, BC, how we use it, and who we share it with.

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you give us directly through our booking page (/book), the homepage registration pop-up, our contact form, and — in the future — newsletter sign-up and free guide (lead magnet) download forms. This includes:

• Your name (and the name of a second participant for two-person registrations).
• Email address(es) used for confirmations and class communication.
• Phone number(s) used for urgent class updates.
• Physical mailing address (street, city, postal code), used for certification records, billing verification and mailing course materials or certificates.
• Dog information — whether you plan to bring a dog and details you provide about that dog (name, breed, age, temperament, health or handling notes) so the class stays safe for every animal and person in the room.
• Booking details — the class date you selected, your registration tier, any supply add-ons and the total paid.
• Messages you send through the contact form.

We also collect limited technical information automatically (such as device type, browser, pages viewed and referring source) through the analytics and advertising tools described below.

Payment card details are never collected or stored by us. Card data is entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout.

2. How we use your information

• Booking management — reserving your seat and dog spot, confirming payment, tracking class capacity, managing waitlists, transfers and refunds where applicable.
• Communication — sending your registration confirmation and receipt notice, the follow-up email approximately one week before class with venue, start time and what to bring, and any urgent notices such as a postponement or instructor illness.
• Class safety — reviewing dog information in advance so the instructor can plan a safe hands-on session.
• Marketing and analytics — understanding how people find and use the site, measuring the performance of our ads, and (with your consent, where required) sending occasional newsletters, class announcements and free educational resources. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.
• Legal and accounting — meeting tax, record-keeping and other legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your dog's information with advertisers.

3. Third-party tools and service providers

• Stripe — processes all payments securely. Stripe receives your name, email and billing address to complete the transaction and is responsible for the handling of your card data under its own privacy policy.
• Email notifications (notify.workbenchpetcare.ca) — our transactional email service sends your confirmations, receipts, class reminders and contact form replies, and delivers copies of your registration details to the instructor's inbox.
• Google Analytics — measures website traffic and how visitors move through the booking flow, using cookies and similar technologies.
• Google Ads — measures ad performance and conversions and may be used to show you our ads across Google properties.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Ads — measures ad performance and may be used to show you our ads on Meta platforms.
• Newsletter and lead-generation forms — where you opt in to receive a free guide or newsletter, your name and email are stored so we can deliver the resource and follow-up emails you asked for.
• Hosting and database infrastructure — our website and registration records are hosted with reputable cloud providers on our behalf.

Some of these providers process data outside of Canada. By using the site you acknowledge that your information may be stored and processed in other countries under their laws.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality (such as keeping your checkout session working) and for the analytics and advertising purposes described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through your Google and Meta ad settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from working.

5. How long we keep your information

Registration and payment records are kept for as long as needed to run the class, issue certification records and meet accounting and legal requirements. Contact form messages and marketing subscriptions are kept until you ask us to delete them or you unsubscribe.

6. Security

Registration data is stored in an access-controlled database with row-level security, and only the organizer can view registration records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you marketing emails. Requests can be sent to cheryl.yw.ng@gmail.com. We may need to keep certain records where the law requires it.

8. Registering someone else (two-person registrations)

If you register a second student ("a friend"), you confirm that you have their explicit permission to provide their personal information to us — including their name, email address, phone number and mailing address — and that they have agreed to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms & Conditions. We will contact the second student directly with their own registration confirmation and class details. Either student may ask us to access, correct or delete their information at any time.

9. Children

Our booking flow is intended for adults. Minors may attend a class when registered by a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the information provided.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The revised date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
